Bloomington Community, Partners and Friends:
It is with sadness that we announce that for the first time in eleven years, there will not be a Bloomington Heritage Days festival in September of this year. The COVID-19 virus that is circling the globe is taking its toll on people, communities, events and activities, impacting the entire world. For maybe the first time ever, this situation has proven how interconnected we really are all over the planet, our lives and stories intertwined. Our hope is that we will come out of this with more appreciation for how we impact and rely upon one-another. Until then, we hunker down away from one-another, hungrily awaiting the time that we can all join together again in celebration of our community, our country and our world.
While we have decided at this time to cancel the festival, we hold out hope that the parade can still take place the morning of Saturday, September 19th, 2020. We have postponed registration, and stand in-wait to see how long our lives are impacted under this quarantine. If we receive the “all-clear” in time to pull it off, hopefully we will be able to come together for another great parade this year!
Thank you to everyone that has worked so hard for this event, and for everyone that joins us each year to celebrate our great city. We wish safety, health and happiness to all!
