Bloomington Community, Partners and Friends:
The last 18 months have been marked by uncertainty for us as individuals, as a community and as an organization. In the midst of those circumstances, the Bloomington Heritage Days Board has grappled with the best ways we can continue to serve our mission of bringing the Bloomington community together. For the sake of safety, we elected to cancel our 2020 event with hopes that we could come back in a grand fashion in 2021.
This year has carried some of the same uncertainty as the last, and we have been unable to move forward with the level of confidence we need to properly provide the experience our community deserves. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Bloomington Heritage Days festival and parade again in 2021.
The Bloomington community is at the heart of our mission to be a catalyst for community engagement and celebration, which has never been more important than it is today. We have already begun the planning process for the 2022 festival with the aim of capturing the full array of community and celebration we have longed for over the past 18 months.
Until then, we want to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all of the volunteers, organizations and community members who have made this a fantastic event for so many years.
